The sports world is in a tizzy today because a player for the University of Oregon* football team punched a player from Boise State after a game last night. Everyone's calling for the head of LaGarrette (great name) Blount, because he socked Bryan Hout in the jaw after what had reportedly been a very frustrating game for the Ducks.
But take a look at the video:
Doesn't Hout - who clearly says something to Blount before the incident - look like the most obnoxious d-bag you've ever seen? That smirk! That is the smirk of every jock who ever who ever tripped someone in the cafeteria or made fart noises during other people's presentations. That is a Cobra Kai smirk, a Hawk smirk. I don't generally condone violence, but that smirk was asking for it.
(Sorry for the poor video quality. This one had the best view of "the smirk").
* The original post said Oregon State. I have since been informed it was the University of Oregon. Sorry, I don't know the colleges of Oregon as well as I should.

Liz: It was Oregon, not Oregon State.
Blount had been running his mouth for weeks about how Oregon was going to "lay and ass whuppin" on Boise when they played. Then Blount backed that up with an impressive -5 yards on 8 carries.
If you watch the tape closely, you can see Hout say "ass-whuppin" to Blount, who then proceeds to totally lose his shit and punch Hout in the face. And then try to punch one of his team mates. And then he tries to climb into the crowd and start beating the fans.
Blount had been thrown out of practice earlier in the year and suspended from the team during the off-season. So, if you ask me, Blount's the douchebag. He should never be allowed to set foot on a field ever again.
I have to agree with Liz...not because I watched the video (stupid work blocking everything!!!) but because Idaho is full of dbags. Seriously, can we just blow up that state already?
I think they're both D-bags and I wouldn't have it any other way! The very first college football game of the season and we had a fight. Spectacular!
And Red, what the hell did Idaho do to you?
I don't want to talk about it...it's too painful. Idaho knows what it did and has to live with that knowledge.

Wow. Boise's linebacker crumpled like a cheap suit. That can't bode well for their season....
Looks like Hout suffered some "blount force trauma" to the face.
