Tonight at 11 pm eastern standard time on Blog Talk Radio The Three Amoviegoers will be sharing their lists of their ten favorite Woody Allen films and also be discussing his latest film Whatever Works which is the 40th film he's made. I'm a fan, but I haven't seen even half of these. So I'll just do categories.

LOVED it: Annie Hall, Everyone Says I Love You, Sleeper, Mighty Aphrodite.

Good: Everything You Always Wanted To Know About Sex But Were Afraid To Ask, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Deconstructing Harry, Crimes And Misdemeanors, Small Time Crooks, Bullets Over Broadway.

Meh: Manhattan, Match Point, Manhattan Murder Mystery, Celebrity.

I haven't seen most of those. Woody Allen always got on my nerves. But I recently saw "Scoop" (waaay down there on your list) and thought it was pretty funny, and that he was very funny in it. So, maybe I'll try some more.

I have to say though that "Melinda and Melinda" was one of the dumbest movies I've ever seen.

Whoa! I just watched CotJS and liked it! Really? It's his worst? I mean, Helen Hunt is terrible, but otherwise it's a fun little movie! Better than Celebrity for sure.

I totally agree with #1, though. One of the greatest movies ever.

I'm in the category of people who just don't "get" Woody Allen. He's OK, but I don't get what the big deal is. Even "Annie Hall."

Hope that's not a deal breaker

If I were going to separate the lists into categories it would be:

Love: 1-13 and the Gene Wilder segment in 14
Good: the rest of 14-31
Meh: 32-40

We all agreed on the broadcast that Jade Scorpion is his worst. Helen Hunt is part of it, but I think I only laughed once the entire time.

Melinda and Melinda was a better idea for a movie than it ended up actually being.

And if you're looking for just a good funny movie where you don't have to necessarily "get" Woody I recommend Small Time Crooks.
