When I was a kid, I totally wanted to be Jewish (mainly because I had the biggest crush on Grant Shaud (aka Miles Silverberg on Murphy Brown), but also because the Jews are God's chosen people and who doesn't want to be "chosen"?) and Hanukkah sounded pretty cool (except when a Jewish boy in my class told us he usually got socks as one of his eight gifts...which is pretty lame (and can I just tell you, the first time I wrote that sentence, I spelled it "sox." Damn you Liz!!!))
Anyhoo, all that to say, we here at Gingers is the Watchword want to wish all our Jewish readers a very Happy Hanukkah, which begins tonight at sundown. Hope you get something better then socks.

I remember an episode of Murphy Brown when Miles had a really bad head cold and in one scene he sneezed into his handkerchief and then looked at it exclaiming, "There's the part of my brain that does long division." I totally stole that line from then on out.
Murphy Brown doesn't get nearly the respect it deserves. Way to shout it out Lora!
And yes, Happy Hanukkah everyone!
Miles? MILES??? We may need to reconsider this whole separated at birth notion.
I really shouldn't scoff too much, as I recall having an entire bedroom wall plastered with très cool Bop and Tiger Beat photo spreads of New Kids On The Block. (Joey was so damn dreamy.)
What can I say? i love a cute jewish boy!
And I was never really into NKOTB. It's like I don't even know who you are anymore, Carey!!!
hahaha! We'll get through this rough patch, one day at a time, together.
