Awww, Sophia died.
The oldest Golden Girl, Estelle Getty passed away Tuesday. Apparently she had advanced dimentia, which really sucks. My grandmother died of that, and its a rough disease.
Honestly, the show sounds hokey now, but whenever I catch the Golden Girls on TV when I'm home for some reason at 11 a.m. on a Thursday, I remember how funny it really was. And Estelle Getty was arguably the funniest, with some really fantastic one liners. I was surprised to see she was only 84 now, since she was supposed to be in her 80s on the show. I guess they used makeup.
Anyway, rest in peace, you feisty broad. Thank you for being a friend.

The Golden Girls is still awesome. I watch it on Lifetime when I go to bed at night. It still makes me laugh, it's not hokey! It's not it's NOT IT'S NOT IT'S NOT OH WHY GOD WHY DID YOU HAVE TO TA HAYHAYHAYHAYHAYKE HERRRRRRR... *weeping*
:(
I would never go out of my way to watch "Golden Girls" and never considered it a show that I liked. But any time it was on, I would always laugh. Go figure.
And Estelle was the funniest one.
Aww, man. This is a major bummer. We were just talking this weekend about which Golden Girl we would be!
She was a crack, always playing an older lady than she was
Aww Sophie died is correct. But on the bright side, did you hear Walmart is having a sale on granola bars?
Actually, according to imdb, Getty was born in July of '23 while both Bea Arthur and Betty White were born in '22. Rue McClanahan was the baby of the bunch, she wasn't born until '34.
The mother was younger than the daughter? That's unpossible!
And yes Red, I did think it was odd how we were talking about which Golden Girl we'd be when we're older.
Stop! Or My Mom Will... shit
Betty White owned that show.
