I need your help again, friends. Lately, I've been quite annoyed/puzzled by things I've read/seen/heard/felt. Perhaps you can make some sense of it all...
First, men watch The Bachelorette? Yesterday, 2 fairly respectable male bloggers spent quite a bit of time rambling on about The Bachelorette...and in a very "I love this show, mainly because the chick is hot, but also because it's damn fine entertainment" kind of way. What? I feel like everything I know about men (which, admittedly, is not much) was just destroyed.
Next, people still really like the Red Hot Chili Peppers? I swear to everything holy, I hear several RHCP songs on the radio on my may to and from work everyday. I guess they were kinda fun in the 90's when they wrote Suck My Kiss and Flea wore a sock on his junk, but c'mon. They're all old white dudes from LA at this point. I don't get it.
Along the same lines, who likes One Republic (other than BeckEye)? I didn't think they could have a worse single after the dreadful Apologize, but I was wrong. So very, very wrong.
And finally (get ready for the post derailment you all love so very much), why am I so obsessed with my redheadedness? A blog, which shall remain nameless, kinda made fun of redheads today (specifically, the ability of one redheaded pitcher to slaughter the Padres last night) and I totally almost left a ranting, crazy comment telling the author to suck it (I remembered, however, the site is run by a bunch of cute guys and I want them to think I am cool and charming and gorgeous and so I refrained from revealing my true insanity. Crisis averted). But seriously, why am I so obsessed with this one thing that makes me so special and unique less than 1% of the earth can share my awesomeness? It's a mystery.

Formula for RHCP hit: pick any three notes to repeat in a 1-2-3-1-2 combo over and over again and mention California as often as possible.
Okay, let's see...
The Bachelorette -- I don't think you realize it, but you are seriously missing the boat on this television spectacle. I am so obsessed with this show, and I have no one to talk about it with! Apparently I need to start talking to men about it. I have no idea why the guys are watching it (unless their girls are, and they're just in the room)?
RHCP -- Ehh. No idea.
OneRepublic -- Wow, we really differ here. I purchased this album because I really liked "Apologize," and I ended up liking "Stop and Stare" even more. The latter's lyrics just really resonate with me right now -- Stop and stare / You think you're moving but you go nowhere / And yeah I know that everyone gets scared / But I've become what I can't be. Love love love this song. Then again I like Maroon 5 and Leona Lewis, so what do I know?
Your redheadedness -- I think you have every right to be obsessed with this. I wish I were a natural redhead. This one trait alone makes you way better than most humans. Flaunt it, girl.
Fal: I totally love Leona Lewis. I keep bleedin', I keep, keep bleedin' love
I was going to say exactly what Garney said about RHCP. Damn him.
As for OneRepublic, their new song is good too. Youze whack. Take back everything bad that you've said about them right NOW. No, on second thought, never mind. It's too late. You hear me? It's too late to apologize. It's TOOOOO LAAAAAATE.
If it makes you feel any better, I wouldn't watch The Bachelorette if I was dating a hit girl who promised to give me oral through the entire program. So some guys are still guys.
Secondly, I think the Chili Peppers seem like a nice enough lot, but I can't imagine listening to them for any reason other than nostalgia ever since that godawful "Music is my aeroplane" song.
I have no idea who OneRepublic is, but I imagine I'd hate them, too.
And re: redheadedness - people pick something to identify themselves with/by, and then staunchly defend it for no reason. I once found myself defending Sum 41, who I don't even like, over the White Stripes, just because I felt like at least Sum 41 listened to the same kind of music I did growing up. That music: crappy music. But still, I was all heated for no good reason. Plus, redheads are almost always foxy, so spend less time worried about bloggers and more time allowing us menfolk to admire you.
Becks: You and Fal are wrong about One Republic. I'm sorry to be the one to break it to you.
Pistols: Sum 41? Really?
Red, i'm not sure we can be friends anymore. RHCP is my fav band, I have no idea what they are saying most of the time, but i don't care! They are classic cali beach-fun music!! Anthony Kiedis is yum on a stick! Their latest dual album Stadium Arcadium is freakin awesome and stayed in my CD player (yes, I still have a CD player... my iPod never stays charged) for about 6 months after it came out! And how can you not love them after their poignant performance in the oh-so brilliant 'Point Break'
You know what, it doesn't even matter if you don't show the love to Flea and the rest of the guys, cause there is enough love in my heart for all of them!
That poster with the Red Head is breathtaking.
