New Music Friday

I am currently addicted to Black Kids (no, not the adorable little cherubs of African decent, the indie-rock band from Florida). Their album is infectious mix of The Go! Team and Arcade Fire and it's huge in the UK (where coolness is born). Check 'em out:

Tell me that doesn't make you wanna dance!

I dig it! Been meaning to check these guys out because you told me to and I do whatever you say. Thanks for making it easy for me.

When you referenced Arcade Fire, I was sure I would hate it, but it's pretty okay. To me it sounds like The Cure on antidepressants.

Oh, www is SO going to die. I make him check out music all the time and all he does is make fun of me for my choices.

::seething::

I can't watch this right now, but I will later. Promise, baby.

I'm not sure what to do with bands like this, because sure, I like them, but I already have the Cure CDs. It's like Interpol - yes, I also really like Joy Division, too.

This band doesn't rip of The Cure nearly as bad as Interpol rips off JD. I think those guys should seriously pay royalties to Ian Curtis's estate.

I picked up the album by MGMT today (check your Sundance on demand for their recent Live From Abbey Road appearance). It's good stuff. But you know my new obsession is Dr. Dog.

Interpol and Joy Division should both just go die. Oh wait, one of them already did!

You people are way too fucking hip for me. I feel like I have on the wrong shoes to even be seen in this comments section.

In other news, great song.. I'm really liking it..

I first discovered The Black Kids several months ago in the "Artists To Watch" issue of Rolling Stone. When I searched You Tube for some footage, I found this song (however, the clip was put together by a fan). It's cool to finally see the official video. The lead singer sounds a bit like Robert Smith to me.
