Wishing Well: An iMeme

Because I was born without the capacity for original thought, I have stolen this post from some of our friendly fellow bloggers. The deal is, you put your iPod on shuffle, and go through it to find the answers to important questions like, "How do you feel today?" It's roughly ten times more idiotic than that 25 Things thing going around on Facebook (which is, in and of itself, fifty kinds of idiotic), but as I started going through my iPod just for fun, I found some of the songs were strikingly apt. So I'm going to share them with you guys. Try to contain your excitement.

WHAT IS YOUR MOTTO?

Fiesta – The Pogues (I do enjoy a good party. And if it's Irish, all the better)

WHAT DO YOUR FRIENDS THINK OF YOU?

Absolutely Cuckoo – The Magnetic Fields (Ha!)

WHAT DO YOU LIKE IN A GUY/GIRL?

Freddie Freeloader – Miles Davis (Ha! again. Not true, but funny how it could fit).

HOW DO YOU FEEL TODAY?

Give my Love to Rose – Johnny Cash (Ummm...OK, these don't all work)

WHAT IS YOUR LIFE'S PURPOSE?

People Talking – Human Television (I do interview people for a living. Cue Twilight Zone theme)

WHAT WILL THEY PLAY AT YOUR FUNERAL?

Girl - Beck (That would be rad actually. This song used to be my ringtone).

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF YOUR FRIENDS?

Light Leaves – Why? (I think this song is about death. Sorry guys).

WHAT IS YOUR HOBBY/INTEREST?

If you see her, say hello – Bob Dylan (Eh, like I said, they don't all work)

WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST SECRET?

Graves – Tokyo Police Club (Does this have something to do with all those dead hookers?)

WHAT'S THE WORST THING THAT COULD HAPPEN?

March into the Sea – Modest Mouse (Kind of works)

HOW WILL YOU DIE?

The Sound of Settling – Death Cab for Cutie (Ditto)

WHAT IS THE ONE THING YOU REGRET?

The Seven Deadly Sins – Flogging Molly (Apparently I'm counting all my sins as one regret. Concise).

WHAT MAKES YOU LAUGH?

I Never – Rilo Kiley (See #4)

WHAT MAKES YOU CRY?

I still haven’t found what I’m looking for – U2 (And I fear I never will! Wahhhh, wahhhh!)

WHAT WOULD BEST DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONALITY?

On ho! – Andrew Bird (Ha! Ho. Or maybe they're talking about my adventurous spirit. Nah, "ho" is funnier)

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT VERY OFTEN?

Logical Song – Supertramp (Ehh)

WHAT IS 2+2?

I’ll work for your Love – Bruce Springsteen (I never have been good at math)

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF YOUR BEST FRIEND?

Mushaboom – Bright Eyes (Feist cover) (Running out of witty remarks for some of these)

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE PERSON YOU LIKE?

Too much Pain – The Bug (Haha, sorry boyfriend)

WHAT IS YOUR LIFE STORY?

I still miss Someone – Johnny Cash (iPod's in a Cash mood)

WHAT DO YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU GROW UP?

Death take your Fiddle - Spiritualized

WHAT DO YOUR PARENTS THINK OF YOU?

Angeles – Elliott Smith (Lyric sample: "Did you add up all the cards left to play to zero / And sign up with evil, Angeles?" Thanks Mom and Dad!)

WHAT SCARES YOU THE MOST?

Ghost Hardware – Burial (It's true: ghosts alone don't scare me, but give them power tools ...)

DOES ANYONE LIKE YOU?

Song for Clay (Disappear here) – Bloc Party

WHAT HURTS RIGHT NOW?

Heimdalsgate (Like a Promethean Curse) – Of Montreal

WHAT WILL YOU POST THIS AS?

Wishing Well – Love is All (And so it is done)

So, basically, you want me to die? Thanks a lot, Liz.

Well, now that the cat's out of the bag, Red...she's been saying that for months when you're not around.

I may actually do this meme because unlike the 25 Things one, it requires no personal revelation and no work on my part. That's the kind of meme I can get on board with.

I did this on Facebook at the weekend. Apparently The Humpty Dance will play at my funeral, my opinion of my parents is My Lovin' (Never Gonna Get it) and my biggest regret is These Burgers. The last one was my favourite, because I'd just eaten a load of home-made burgers.

My ringtone was once Beck's Think I'm In Love.

Wow. There's a lot of cool on here and then you had to go and Supertramp it up. Although I do like "Goodbye, Stranger." I thought it was the BeeGees. Who are somehow not as far beyond the pale as Supertramp.

haha, I have Supertramp because I have the Magnolia Soundtrack, which I bought for the Aimee Mann goodness. But, I must admit, I kinda like the Supertramp (at least Goodbye Stranger)
