Signs I'm Getting Old: Vol. 2 (I think)

I watched the MTV VMAs on fast forward last night. My face looked like this the entire time:
I had several questions for myself after watching the show: First, does anyone think Russell Brand, while hilarious in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, is really very funny? I usually get the Brits, but this guy is a big ol' mess. Also, am I cool because I didn't know half of the artists nominated (who they hell is Tokyo Hotel?) or does not knowing them make me lame and out of touch? (I imagine this is how people my age felt when Britney Spears and *Nsync were huge back in the day...totally confused by it all.) And finally, why do I insist on watching the VMAs every year when I know they will be horrible? I need to rethink my priorities.

I believe it's spelled Tokio Hotel.

You're welcome.

I only saw him for a few minutes to give full declaration of funny review.

Welcome to me, circa five years ago. There comes a point where despite your best efforts (alright, turning on MTV once a month to try and stay relevant), you just lose interest in what the kids are listening to.

But give yourself credit for trying. And for that picture, because it captures confusion perfectly.

MTV hasn't shown videos or music for years.

I think a sign that I'm getting old is that my hangovers last all day and not just all morning.

Yeah I'm confused as to why the VMAs still exist. YouTube is the only place you can see music videos any more. Then again, I felt too old for MTV when I was 16, so what do I know.

Falwless knew who Tokio Hotel was and spelled it correctly.

I think that means you are cool for not knowing who any of these "artists" are.

(I <3 you Fal!)

I couldn't watch the whole thing. I just tuned in to be the big surprise that Britney was working on. Speeding through 4 lines while blocking her face with the microphone. Brilliant. Best minute of my life.

You're dead to me, www.

I'm pretty sure I've said this before, but I mean it this time.

I used to listen to Russel Brand on BBC radio 2 when he first busted out and I did think he was funny. But yes, I agree, he is a bit of an ole mess. I think it's part of his act
