The Kids are Not Alright

If you haven't heard, 17 girls made a "pregnancy pact" at a high school in Gloucester, Mass and all got themselves knocked up at the same time. Some are blaming films like Juno and Knocked Up for their skewed view of pregnancy, but, let's face it, these girls are just morons (I remember a girl in my sixth grade class who told us she was trying to get pregnant. Some girls are crazy). Apparently, the big draw for these New England ladies is having a baby shower and receiving lots of gifts. It's American materialism at it's finest.

In other news, fruit has replaced cookies as the number one snack for kids. Steven Colbert is not amused:

Does this mean it's now a better-than-ever time to be a young male and living in Massachusetts?

Next thing you know, there are going to be insemination parties and mass birth-givings in stadiums.

What a great time to be alive, especially if you're a young lady and all you have to aspire to be is a baby factory. Now you not only have the support of your peers who know what you're going through, but whose babies you can throw in the same crib as yours and ignore at the same time while you go shopping together for cell phones and purses!

Is there a secret handshake involved in this pregnancy pact? Nothing makes others envious of your club like a secret handshake - I bet 5 girls signed up just to learn it.

Yeah, I waited for a damn hour last night waiting to hear that pregnancy story. Freakin' newscasters, man. They made it like it was to be the top story and they just kept talking about it, and finally it was the last thing they mentioned. Assholes. I hate when they do that. I could've gone out and gotten myself pregnant in the time I was waiting for that story.

Keep R. Kelly far away from that school.

beckeye--THAT IS THE EFFING WORST. WORST. I've been known to DVR newscasts just because they fucking tease me, constantly, and I'm sick of their games! GAAAHH!!

Anyway, this is nuts. Seriously? Seriously? This is for real? You're not punking me? This is crazy. I can't believe this. I mean, I can, and I will, but I'm in shock. This is bizarre.

I hate all women who purposely get themselves pregnant, like I'm made of $250 and a free ride someplace.

While I don't like this pact made my the girls, I am aware that I'm living in society that is not replacing itself.
One hundred years ago it would have been perfectly normal for this kids to have kids.
The demographic bomb is going off as we speak.
