There's gotta be more to life than "The Monster Mash"

Red and I are throwing a Halloween party this weekend (we're gonna look super '60s sexy as the cast of Mad Men) and we're at the point in our planning where we're thinking about the music.

As always, we need your help: What are some good, creepy Halloween party songs? Obviously there's "Thriller," and probably a lot of stuff my Metallica and Slayer, but we're trying to think outside the box here.

Ideas in the comments section, please!

Would it be too tacky to just make a playlist of dead artists?

The first song that comes to mind is "Rooster" by Alice in Chains. And anything by Type O Negative.

Jack the Ripper by musician-turned-insane-politician Screaming Lord Sutch contains a lot of screaming.

Blue Oyster Cult has some good "spooky" type songs.

Oooh, good call on the BOC, mjenks.

I would expect nothing less from someone named "Screaming Lord Sutch," TIR :)

How about "Tear You Apart" by She Wants Revenge and, of course, "Red Right Hand" by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds?

Nightmare Before Christmas, Revisited. It's got Marilyn Manson (the kid's fav, don't ask), Korn, and a bunch of others. They did and AMAZING job with it.

I don't like the Doors, but "People Are Strange" always had a creepy vibe that was cool. "I Put A Spell On You" by Screaming Jay Hawkins would be awesome, too.

I know I'm too late, but I thought I'd show my hipness with Oingo Boingo's Dead Man's Party.

To add to MJenks, Don't Fear the Reaper is obvious, but Joan Crawford Has Risen is properly themed and appropriately awesome. C'mon, write this stuff down for next year.
