This (mostly) Just In...

Here are some buzzed about internet stories you may or may not care about:

Britney Spears is taking time off from being a train wreck to guest star on How I Met Your Mother (which has now officially become the new Will & Grace as far as guest stars are concerned). Maybe NPH can straighten a sister out. Every girl needs a gay man to tell her the cold, hard truth.

The Office is back April 10th. Thank the Lord. I been missing Jim in my nightly fantasies.

P. Diddy (or whatever the hell we call him now) has been linked to the death of Tupac (even though he completely denies it, of course). Just when the East Coast and West Coast were becoming friends again.

The Riches returns with season 2 tonight on FX. Like most one-hour dramas these days, it may be a bit tough to follow if you haven't seen season 1, but give it a try anyway. Where else can you get a weekly fix of the hilarious Eddie Izzard? No where, that's where.

Or maybe you can watch Eddie on You Tube.

I pretty much have Izzard's entire Dress To Kill routine memorized.

I have a very, very odd crush on him, even when he dresses as a woman.

I can't explain it.

You'll be shocked to know, I'm sure, I do too (the memorizing and the crush).

Just stop it already...

I just want to brag that I've been to a live Eddie Izzard standup.

And I never thought about HIMYM being the new W&G but you're totally right... and it kinda bums me out.

The Brittney episode is a response to falling ratings. That show is dead now. Nothing can save it.

Ah, Nathaniel. Bringing sunshine and happiness everywhere you go ;)

Did I mention they moved the time slot as well. Hoping for a Big Bang Theory and a Two And A Half Men sandwich. Again a very bad sign.

Maybe Josh Radnor can make more strike videos. Seems to be good at it.

I too have seen Eddie live many moons ago in the UK. He was awesome. And signed my program afterwards. Awww.
I love The Riches as well, so I'm happy that's finally back. Eddie's accent is a little suspect though I feel. Minnie Driver's however, is awesome.

I hope someone links P.Diddy to something serious soon because if he's not in prison and out of my hair soon I'll kill him myself. Hate that guy.

Ditto on P.Shitto.

But hey, the Office? Cripes....now I'm going to have to remember to stop goofing around on Thursday night. Kinda bummed that I have to remember that half hour now.

On the brighter side though, my old buddy Creed will finally be back. I love Creed. He's the best. Like, what's up with Creed? Did he sleep in his car last night? What did Creed just eat? Will Creed ever answer my emails?

Guv: I'm so jealous of your Eddie encounter. I think his accent is fine, just not southern like all the rest.

Dan: It says so much about you that Creed is your favorite Office character.

I just love how Creed says and does the weirdest isht and acts like its no big deal. "I run a fake ID business out of my car." "Wow, I've never owned a fridge before." Awesome.

I think it was bitch-assness that killed Tupac.

Creed Quotes:

Creed: I’ve been involved in a number of cults both as a leader and a follower. You have more fun as a follower but you make more money as a leader.

Karen: You can’t give paper clips to a baby. He might swallow them.
Creed: Oh it’s ok, I’ve got tons of them.

Creed: I’m not offended by homosexuality. In the 60s I made love to many, many women – often outdoors in the mud and the rain – and it’s possible that a man slipped in. There’d be no way of knowing...

Creed: Creed Bratton has never declared bankruptcy. When Creed Bratton gets in trouble, he transfers his debt to
[holds up fake passport]

Guv: You probably don't even care, but I realized my response to your comment came off totally bitchy. I swear I didn't mean it that way.

I'm pretty sure Tupac is still alive.

Red: Too funny. I didn't even notice or think of it that way! I just think his accent wavers slightly here and there. Not that it matters. It's funny 2 English people are playing the leads. That show is bizarre. It took me half the season last year to realize I did like it. I wasn't sure up till then.

He was nice at the program signing thing. Wore a nice dark suit. And pink high wedges and lipstick! Viva Eddie!

As for The Office...I have tried really hard to get into the American version and I just can't. I love the UK version. I think the US one lacks cringeworthiness in the Steve Carell character. I know this will make me incredibly unpopular but I can't help it. It's not awful at all but the Uk version is a lot better for me.

Line up here to kill me.

Guv: I love the UK version, but I'm kinda glad they changed things up with the US version. If Michael Scott had been as cringeworthy as David Brent for 5 seasons (or whatever it is now) I think it may have been too painful to handle. And no one does cringeworthy like Ricky Gervais. I'm gonna stop saying cringeworthy now...

Ricky Gervais is a God...even in the UK Office, which is mostly too fast for me to figure out. If I could understand the Brits I bet I'd like it even more!

But I've finally watched a few episodes of Extras - and perhaps because of all the hype around it, I just don't find it all that great. It's almost boring. Maybe I'll give it a few more episodes before I give up on it, but it's not looking all that Gervaisworthy.

My turn to hide.

Red said...

Extras is awesome! Such a great follow-up to The Office because Gervais basically plays the straight man to Stephen Merchant and the guest stars.

I mean, have you seen the Kate Winslet episode? Hilarious!

doorknob_dan said...

Nope, never saw that one.

I'll give it some more time and see if there are any sparks.
