The Peace Sign turns 50 today. Initially a symbol for Nuclear Disarmament, (who knew? (probably lots of people actually)) this simple figure became the universal symbol of peace. And something for hippies to wear on a T-Shirt. Damn hippies...

I once saw a bumper sticker that had a picture of a peace sign and it said, "Footprint of the American chicken." I thought it was a little uncalled for.
I always thought this was the symbol for a nuclear missile till about 14. I couldn't understand why the hippies wanted to kill everyone.
Better yet, I used to try to be all cool and draw peace symbols all over my Trapper Keeper and my notebooks, but unbeknownst to me I was just doodling the Mercedes symbol over and over.

Yeah those damn hippies steal everything and make it unusable. Of course, who went through high school without one of those somewhere on their person. High school kids are THE STUPID.
